Gallery opening

Great - very few pieces, all by local artists, showing their side of Queens, everything crammed in a narrow hallway behind two steel doors on the ground floor of a converted warehouse. A dozen cops were there when I showed up, apparently to bust the crowd of smokers outside (a huge problem, on a deserted warehouse strip in Long Island City). For an eternity, no one could find a corkscrew for the two magna of wine, so friend and I walked around optimistically with empty plastic cups. When someone finally did find one, the bottles were drained before we got any. It was time to leave.
