Happy America Day

I did my first fourth of July. I celebrated it by watching American tv in my room in America. Then I finally dragged my ass outside to watch the fireworks. It was one of the longest shows I've seen, all of us crowded under the FDR at the South Street Seaport since it was raining a little. Some of the fireworks exploded into shapes, like stars and hearts and cubes. I have NEVER seen this.

Well played, America.

Welcome to my country!
Actually, this was probably my first 4th of July in the states since I was 6 years old. It was also my first Canada day as a Canadian, which made it an odd time to be attending classes and being in California.

I was in the US for July 4th as well, and I have never seen fireworks of that calibre.

They even had voiceover where I was.

Americans celebrating themselves is an impressive thing. Well played, indeed.

Please! Calgary has the International Fireworks Competition during the third week of Ausgust every year, attracting countries from all over the world. Each show is half an hour and is choreographed to music of all kinds. They have fireworks inside of fireworks inside of fireworks and they are of hundreds of shapes and colours. Things aren't always the best just by virtue of the fact that they are in New York, you know.

I know, and I've been to that festival, but I've never seen starworks explode into non-symmetrical patterns like hearts before.
